Ginny Barnes Receives Distinguished Woman in Southern Agriculture Award

Ginny Barnes, Coastal AgroBusiness Solutions Advisor, has been honored as recipient of the Distinguished Woman in Southern Agriculture Award announced at the Southern Crop Production Association (SCPA) Virtual Annual Meeting on November 3, 2020.  This award recognizes a leading woman who has made significant contributions to agriculture in the Southern United States.

Governor Declares Transportation Waiver Ahead of Hurricane Dorian

Governor Cooper has declared a state of emergency for all of North Carolina in preparation for potential impacts of Hurricane Dorian.  The Governor’s Executive Order suspends motor vehicle regulations including the temporary suspension of weighing vehicles used to transport livestock, poultry or crops ready to be harvested and feed to livestock and poultry in the emergency area.  The Order also waives the maximum number of hours of service for drivers.

Stabilize RZ Boosts Soil Health and Plant Growth

Stabilize RZ is a microbial soil amendment that improves soil health and biological activity, causing plants to better utilize water and nutrients.  The result is stronger, healthier plants and higher yields. Stabilize RZ is an excellent addition to starter fertilizer programs for corn, cotton, soybeans, peanuts and grain sorghum as well as tobacco setter water.  It may also be applied at layby or anytime nutrients are applied to the soil.

Governor Cooper’s Executive Order: Transportation Waiver

Governor Cooper has issued Executive Orders 75 and 77 for the “temporary suspension of motor vehicle regulations to ensure restoration of utility services and transporting essentials” to support recovery efforts due to Hurricanes Florence and Michael.
